Answers to your concerns about pigmentation.
How long does it take to see results for pigmentation?
Pigment is stubborn. With a strict routine, you can expect to see fading start around 6-8 weeks, but significant clearance often takes 3-6 months. Consistency is key.
Do I really need sunscreen indoors?
Yes. UVA rays (which trigger pigment) penetrate glass windows. Additionally, blue light from screens can exacerbate melasma.
Can I use Vitamin C if I have sensitive skin?
It depends on the form. L-Ascorbic Acid can be irritating. Look for derivatives like Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate or THD Ascorbate which are gentler.
What is the difference between sunspots and melasma?
Sunspots are usually individual, defined dark marks caused by UV damage. Melasma appears as larger, symmetrical patches often triggered by hormones and heat.
Can diet affect my pigmentation?
Anti-inflammatory diets rich in antioxidants (berries, leafy greens) can help skin defend against UV damage from the inside out.
