Answers to your concerns about uneven tone.
What causes textured skin?
A build-up of dead skin cells, dehydration, and clogged pores are the main culprits. As we age, natural cell turnover slows down.
How often should I exfoliate?
Start with 1-2 times a week. Over-exfoliating can damage the moisture barrier, actually making texture look worse.
What is the best acid for texture?
Glycolic Acid (AHA) is excellent for surface smoothing. Salicylic Acid (BHA) helps if the texture is caused by clogged pores.
Can I smooth texture without acids?
Yes, Retinoids are the most powerful tool for long-term smoothing as they speed up cell regeneration from the deeper layers.
Why does my makeup look cakey?
Texture and dehydration. If the canvas (skin) is rough, the paint (foundation) will grab onto dry patches. Exfoliate and hydrate well before applying.
